August 1st, 2008 — Sainsbury's, Supermarkets
In this day and age of economic recession, inflation and rising food cost I was happy to spot this in my local Sainsbury's:

That's right, Sainsbury's permanently dropped the price of B&J's Phish Food by 4 (four!) pennies to £3.95. So now you not only save the planet by eating B&J's ice cream, you also save money! I really don't understand how we can have 4% inflation here in England when Sainsbury's cuts ice cream prices by a full percentage point? Maybe i just dont understand how the economy works. Or, judging from the thick layer of frost on the containers, British people wouldn't know a bargain if it stood up in their tea. What I do know is that Sainsbury's made it just that little bit easier to balance this family's budget and for that I am grateful. When I have more time I'll write a full review about them, but for now I will just add half a star to their rating.

July 26th, 2008 — Cosmetics, Deodorant, Sainsbury's, Tisserand, Toiletries
My charmpits do conjure up a powerful stink.
Until very recently the only deo with which I dared don my darling arm-crotches was Mitchum Unscented, mostly because it's clear and lacking in the ubiquitous "Discount Whorehouse" or "Weight-room Douchebag" perfumes. But then the memory loss began (long story), I started watching Yoga programs on tv, and I got a perkier haircut and it seemed an all-natural deodorant was in order.
So, I managed to track down the Aluminium-free and very well-packaged Tisserand at Sainsbury's.
So far, so good. No stink yet, but it's not like I'm playing beach soccer or some equivalently drippy activity. It smells nice, and I'm not contributing to my burgeoning Alzheimers.
Four and a half stars are for smell, packaging, and effectiveness. Half a star off for the fact that it only lasts about 2 weeks or so, and is prohibitively expensive at 3.95gbp.
